The Bonnefond family's winemaking heritage in Côte-Rôtie dates back to the 16th century. The region, known for its steep vineyards and terraced slopes, has a long-standing tradition of producing distinctive and elegant wines. Patrick and Christophe Bonnefond, the current custodians of the family estate, continue to build upon this rich history, preserving the traditional winemaking methods while embracing modern techniques.
The Bonnefond winery spans approximately 8 hectares (20 acres) of vineyards, primarily planted with the noble grape variety, Syrah. The vineyards are meticulously maintained, with great emphasis placed on sustainable farming practices to ensure the health of the vines and the surrounding ecosystem. The estate's terroir is characterized by granite soils, steep slopes, and a unique microclimate, all of which contribute to the distinctiveness of their wines.
